My Ex Girlfriend Is Trying To Extort Me For 5 Grand

Location: Nevada

I ( 24 M ) Made a legal mistake that I did fortunately never get in trouble for. My ex girlfriend is threatening that unless I give her my entire 5 grand paycheck today she will black mail me into getting me in trouble.

I’ve looked it up, extortion sounds pretty serious however I don’t have much text proof besides her saying stuff such as “ Okay yeah when you move out tomorrow, play it smart. “ aka better give her my check. This is mostly word of mouth her screaming at me saying the check better be transferred to her account etc

I have paid the bills the entire time we were together. Only 4-5 months and I moved into her house she was renting and took over the bills cause she was struggling financially and I was starting to make money ( I have 0 savings it’s all went towards her and bills ) Anyways, I told her fine I would leave since we aren’t getting along. Her and another one of her good friends took screen shots of the thing supposedly admitted to doing and she is saying she is going to get them delivered to the correct person if I do not get her 5 grand cash by today when my paycheck hits.

I have track record of me paying all of our bills via cashapp and Chime however nothing of her saying “ I’m gonna do this if you don’t send me money “ and she is basically saying if I don’t give her my entire paycheck today she will make this serious for me.

What are my options?

Let’s just say : it has to do with work, I could lose my job

However if she truly can get time for this, I’m considering not caring if it means getting her to be scared to finally back off.
