My Ex Keeps Endangering Our Son In The Car
Location: Lawrence County, PA. A year or so ago I had it out with my ex over car safety for our youngest child (now 6m). I noticed my ex put our son in the car at pick up and drive off without buckling him in his carseat. Our oldest child (8f) said it wasn't uncommon for "daddy" to not buckle her brother. For context, it is a 3.5 mile drive from my house to his and he has to drive through a mix of dark windy roads along with multiple lit and busy ntersections. I went to his house, confronted him, then took our son home because I felt like it was such a violation of trust and also obviously illegal. I didn't know how/where to report it, so I gave my ex an ultimatum to either consistently maintain the top safety rule for any child in a vehicle, or I would take legal action.
Well tonight I went to pick up my kids and my daughter immediately told me that, once again, my son was not buckled for the car ride back to their dad's from the park right down the street from my house. Immediately my ex told me it's not a big deal and I need to stop worrying about it.
At this point I am not playing whatever game he thinks this is and I'm not sure if I report to CPS, the local cops, or whoever. I also don't know where to begin on creating a formal custody agreement. Money is tight and I am the sole provider and caretaker for our kids. He only sees them on the weekends because I work and he doesn't.
Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
