My narcissistic, manipulative, emotionally abusive mother who I have gone no contact with since September 24, 2023, refuses to leave me and my children alone. She still sends unwelcome gifts to my children and messages to me despite me being her to stop. This, I could deal with. However, she for now the third year, continues to come to my children’s dance competitions which are all out of town and not posted publicly on the dance studio page. I have no idea how she is finding out when and where the competitions are and it is really affecting my kids and myself. I’ve told her to stop and she refuses. My lawyer friend says that the emotional distress is not enough to win us a restraining order, so I’m just fucked? My studio had a no trespass order against her. But I’m sure that doesn’t cover offsite performances/competitions that she held on public property (school theaters/convention centers). Help! What can I do?!?! My oldest daughter already quit team after the stalking last year and I’m afraid my youngest will quit too. This is something they find joy in and she is ruining it for them as well as just generally freaking us the fuck out!
