Need Legal Advice!

Location: San Luis Obispo, California.my sister, friend, and i recently moved into a new home that we are renting. when we toured the house there was a animal urine smell all throughout the carpets as the past tenets had dogs that we think were locked in the master most of the day. there was a major pee smell coming from the master as well as pee stains on all parts of the carpets. since move in we've experienced the master bedroom having a super weird smell, it's not pee, and it's not your normal mold/mildew smell. we had found a meth pipe under the sink when we moved in so we thought it could've been a smell from drug residue. on top of that, the master shower door is missing as the previous tenets shattered it. they said it would be fixed before move in date (october 1st) it is now october 30th and it's still not replaced. anyways, the smell in the master has gotten so unbearable that we have to hold our breath to go upstairs, once we're in our own rooms the smell is gone, but the master is genuinely fucking awful. my sister lives in it and is about to go stay with my parents because she can't even sleep. we can't tell what it is especially because it gets worse everyday. i recently went on a trip and when i pulled packed clothes out of my bag i could smell her room. it's awful and we genuinely don't know what it could be. the only thing that makes sense is mold but still then we don't know. the property management company answers maybe one of five calls and when they call back the response is always, "they are sending someone". NOBODY HAS EVER SHOWN UP. we have plumbing issues too. we had to fix a broken toilet all by ourselves because we waited an entire month for the plumber to come back which he never did. all together the smell in the master is our biggest concern as it keeps getting worse and we don't know what it is. if it's mold, it's BAD BAD BAD mold. if it's something else, it HAS to be fixed or we can't live here. To continue, we fixed the toilet, a hole in the sink that was causing mold, we replaced fire alarms, drain stoppers, and other random things that the management company said they would fix. They said they would fix all of this before the 1st (move in date) and we ended up having to replace it ourselves so that we weren't at risk. They said the carpets would be cleaned twice after we viewed the property and we don't think they have been cleaned at all. we used to have a bad animal pee smell but the master bedroom smell has taken over so much we can't even smell urine
anymore. i'm sure im missing more, it has genuinely been problem after problem that doesn't get fixed. we aren't being dramatic, i used to live in a mold infested home that was way less bad.
this feels like pure laziness from the management company and all i wish is to talk to the actual owner of the property who i think has never even seen it as they don't live here and own multiple homes that are rented out by this management company. we have a technician coming out to test for mold hopefully within the next couple days. what should i do to resolve this? I need advice on what to document and save to possibly be able to leave a lease or take legal action against the property management company. Have any thoughts?
