Need To Get My Things From My Dad's House (16f) After Getting Kicked Out
Location: Houston, Texas
Important context first: I am 16F and my parents are divorced. Formally, the custody is a 50/50 agreement with my dad being listed as the custodial parent, but my mom moved across the country back in January 2025, and I have been living with my grandparents (who live next door to my dad) since early May. My dad is an extremely verbally abusive drug addict who my family suspects is going through psychosis. He was involuntarily hospitalized (? in the psych hospital) for 9 days in mid May. He has recently stated that he does not care about custody.
My dad does not want me living with him, but many of my things are at his house still, including important documents (e.g. stuff I need to get to get my license). I asked to come over with my grandpa to get my stuff, as I do not feel safe alone with him, but he said that nobody other than me is allowed inside the house. He offered to put my stuff outside if I sent him a list, but I really do not want him going through my things, especially since he's weird and perverted... Is there any way for me to go inside with a relative and collect my stuff, or would I need to resort to a police escort for that to be possible?
Thank you for your time! (edited to add specific city)
