Neighbor Installed Loud Water Pressure Device. Any Legal Standing?
Hi All,
I am located in South Carolina and live in an apartment in a quad plex. The building is next to a mixed use commercial building with shops on the bottom floor and some short term rentals upstairs. A few days ago someone came out and installed these devices that apparently help with providing water pressure. Mind you we have lived here for a few years.
These devices sound for about 6s at 40s intervals. And it’s constant too. I work from home and always hear them from inside our unit and also when trying to sleep. It’s not absurdly loud, but it sounds like someone is in our bathroom turning a hair dryer off and on.
It’s annoying to hear intermittently throughout the day more than anything. I know it’s a long shot and I might sound a little pretentious asking this, but is there any way to require that they turn it off at certain hours from a legal perspective? The tenants in the commercial shops do not know anything about it.
Another note: it’s a historic building with pretty thin walls, insulation, and dated windows. The commercial building is brick and is a little more soundproof, so is likely impacting them less.
Picture attached. Thanks in advance!
