Neighbor & Vandalism
Location: Houston, TX
We received a certified letter today from my neighbor. He is accusing us of entering his property, his backyard, with lawn equipment and destroying his property. We live in a community where everyone has a 6 foot high fence. There's no way we could enter his property without going through his gate. Nor would we.
On one of the dates in question my husband was having extensive dental surgery and definitely was not mowing any lawns as I was with him as well. He sent a another certified letter to my neighbor across the street accusing her of various property crimes. His letter ended with telling me that we should wise up and govern ourselves accordingly. Which feels slightly threatening.
I've sent a copy of this to our HOA. Should I do anything else? He has not given me any video or photographic evidence that he claims he has. He said he sent it to our local sheriff, but I have not heard anything yet. Should I be worried? Should I ask my lawyer to send a cease-and-desist letter threatening legal action. This whole thing is just so weird.
