New Jersey: Apartment Lease Ended, Landlord "not Offering Lease Renewal". Need Guidance.

The TLDR of that post is: last fall, my apartment building was sold to a new management company. My lease was coming to an end at the end of this July, but I had not received any sort of renewal form. I reached out to them via phone/voicemail and email all throughout July and never received any response. In my post I wanted to know what my options are, and any sort of legal protections I may or may not have.

I cited what I could find online from the NJ Anti Eviction Act, and someone responded that at the end of the term, the agreement becomes month to month.

Now, the term ended and I continued to reach out and try to get a response, but heard nothing. I have continued to pay my rent for August and now for September to stay in good standing. I reached out again the other day via email, and finally got a response ...

"We're currently not offering lease renewals. We'll advise once/ if we offer them."

That was their entire email. So, I am here again asking for some information/guidance. I guess my main questions are...

1. Once again citing the New Jersey Anti-Eviction Act, "No landlord may evict or fail to renew any lease of any premises covered by section 2 of this act except for good cause as defined in section 2." So it seems I cannot be evicted simply because the term ended, but it also seems that they are required to renew the lease. Am I reading this correctly, and if so, what can I do? How do I make them offer a renewal?

2. If I am not reading that correctly, what are my options? What do I do if they come around and say I have to leave?
