Nj Sexual Assault Legal Advice

So I have a friend that let me crash with him while I was going through family drama. Upon staying with him, I realized that he had some kind of demented idea of wanting to sleep with me. Mind you, I am a straight male.
One day, when we were out hanging out, moseying around the city that we live in, I went home, crashed in the spare bedroom, and I woke up to him performing fallatio. Now, I woke up, and my initial reaction is violence naturally. But for some reason, I was just stuck and he was violently trying to stick his finger in my ass. And when I woke up he than decided oh wow I’m so sorry idk why I did that
Now with all that being said, he treated me like shit when I was crashing there to the point that I just pretty much abandoned all my stuff. And since then have moved on. I am debating legal action.
He is someone that's not documented in the United States. He has a DUI in... New York City, that he never showed up to court for.
He also did a hit and run during that DUI. I've been friends with him for a long time. I feel very guilty.
I'm at a loss and not sure exactly what to do. I feel like he should pay for his crimes. But the detriment of that would be him doing time and getting deported eventually.
Now, I know I'll lose a lot of friends over this because of the communal drug addiction he has tagging in most of his friend group And so a lot of people have the idea that they're really good friends with him because they're addicts. I have texts of him saying sorry I had him on a recorder admitting and apologizing. This is a tough decision to make
