Not The Biological Father.
I have a situation and need some legal advice. To keep things short, the situation is that me and my wife had a baby which is now two years old. A couple months ago I found out that the baby isn’t mine, my wife had a one night stand with someone she knew. I found out about this a couple months ago but being that I’ve raised the baby as my own and already have love and affection for the baby I decided I was still going to raise the child as my own, I know many ppl would’ve done things differently but this is I how I felt.
My name is on the baby’s birth certificate, has my last name and all. The issue is that now the biological father recently reached out to my wife after two years saying that he believes the child is his and he wants a DNA test to confirm it and if she doesn’t agree to it then he will go to court to request one.
If I want to keep raising the baby as mine along with my wife without him eventually knowing that im not his biological father, what are my options? Is there a way an attorney can shutdown the court ordered DNA request for the better of the child or something similar or would a judge still grant visitations to the biological father and the baby eventually figuring out the truth?
Thanks for your help in advance.
