Options For Moving Forward After Car Damaged At Body Shop.

Location: Pennsylvania

A local body shop did 2 repairs to my vehicle and both repairs are absolutely terrible to the point I went to get quotes to have it redone by other shops and the other shops refused to do the work because of how bad it is. I've tried talking with the shop and they are refusing to help or even respond to me. I've tried their corporate but they never call me back and won't give me anyone's contact to escalate it to. 1 if the repairs was through someone else's insurance and that insurance is refusing to help out now because another shop did work in the same area (damaged again by a different person) and the insurance is now claiming that since the other shop did work in the area that makes the original shops damages no longer their fault and the shop has no obligation to fix it. Even though I have video proving the damage was there prior to the second shop doing any work. I did speak with some attorneys for consumer law and they advised me it's probably cheaper to do small claims but I'll be losing out on several thousand due to the cap in small claims. Also if changes anything, I have a severe rash covering 25%+ of my body directly caused/related to the stress being caused by this and the doctors visits cost money but that's not the issue, I just want my vehicle fixed.

Will involving my own personal insurance company get me anywhere or just jack up my rates? I'm not really sure what to do.
