Landlord Staying On Premises For “maintenance”
Hi everyone, looking for help because my landlord is trying to do something crazy. We got an email from our property management company that our landlord will be staying on the premises for two weeks with a 48 hour notice. Yet to be decided when they will arrive. Their reason for staying is because of “maintenance”, but we have not issued a maintenance request. We live in Washington state and rent a two bedroom house and an ADU on the property. Landlord would be staying in the shed on the property that is not specifically excluded from our lease. Can they do this? It seems absurd and we’re all very uncomfortable with this idea. There’s no kitchen and bathroom in the shed so it would be assumed that they would come into the house for those. Are they allowed to be on the premises after business hours? They said they will put up a fence for privacy, but our backyard is small and we’re not interested in having them stay at all.
Location: washington state, usa
