Our Clients Neighbor Is Harassing Us For No Reason

This is kind of a long one

So back in October of 2025, I started seeing this dude who apparently lives in my town posting things about my business saying that we stole money from the client who is his neighbor

This is so very false. We would never jeopardize our business doing something so stupid. Even our client has no idea why he was doing this.

He's shown no basis of proof and attacked my values, work ethic, and character.

I messaged him asking him to stop or else I'll have to pursue legal action. He did not stop. He responded by telling ME that I don't leave HIM alone that he'd press charges.

I'm not the one who initiated the libel or harassment— it's very hypocritical. I've never even met this dude before. I don't know him and he doesn't know me.

So, I sent him a Cease and Desist letter through our County Sheriff Department demanding that he stop with the harassment and to sign it and return it to the Sherrifs Department within 10 days of receiving the notice.

He did not.

He continues to flip us off every time we're at our clients house (who seriously needs assistance in their house). I can hear him yelling sometimes and I know he smokes a lot of weed around his young child.

Anyways, if he continues this harassment, even with the cease and desist notice, and I call the cops to avoid confrontation (as I am getting very angry) and the cops tell me I can't see out client anymore— what can I do?

This has been having a significant effect on my mental health, I've been so angry, depressed, anxious, worried, and have a general feeling of not being safe. I've lost 20 lbs in the last few months because my appetite isn't the same with all the stress of trying to do damage control about something that never happened. I can't sleep because I'm worried about my financial standpoint as business has been slower than usual.
