Phone Store Trade-in F Up Seeking Advice

Good Afternoon,

I am kind of at a loss here and hoping to get some good legal advice to just determine next best steps for my situation.

Towards the end of April I completed an Xfinity Mobile online trade-in offer and was told I could take the trade-in to be mailed or dropped off in the store. I removed Find My iPhone and the next day went down the store that was busy. The young lady working at the store said you can drop it off here and I asked for a receipt and she said "oh you will be fine".

Fast forward to today I receive a notification from Xfinity that my trade-in was never received and am being billed the $800+ for my trade-in. I go back to the store and the individual working there today says "We dont take trade-ins in store".

I am going back tomorrow to speak to the manager, but think I am going to need to file a police report as well if I am told the same thing. I know I should have not left without a receipt and that is my FU, however any advice for what I can do in this situation would be appreciated.
