Possible To Find Out Whether An Artwork Sold Through Online Auction Was The One Stolen From Me?

Location: NYC

Last year, I hired a friend of a friend to help me move out of my mother's house and into an apartment while my health was rapidly declining. I became bedridden after the move and hired various friends/friends of friends as caregivers until I had a professional service.

The girl in question ended up stealing $1500 total from my wallet while she was working as my caregiver and I was sleeping. My friend confronted her, she admitted it to her, and then she left and took several bedrolls worth a few hundred dollars each with her on the way out. She likely stole more stuff than that, that's just what I know for sure.

I was unable to use my phone for several months and finally found out in early July that she had also been using my credit card info and had spent additional thousands of dollars, mostly on food and Ubers. I cancelled the card and reported it all to Amex. They said they would investigate, and then months later I got a letter saying they'd finished investigating, and that was it.

One of the items that's been missing from my apartment since I moved in was a lithograph I'd purchased for $672. I thought it would turn up this summer in the course of a big organizing project I managed since professional organizers were going through all of my stuff and I asked them specifically to look for it, but it never appeared.

I just found a page on an online auction website where the same lithograph (albeit framed, whereas the one I bought was not) was sold in early July 2025 for $541. The timing is suspicious to me, as this would have been several days after I discovered the credit card fraud and the girl discovered I'd found her out.

Is there any way I could get the information of the person who sold it from the company? Do I have any chance of getting it back if it were the same lithograph? Should I give up on this idea? The money isn't the thing, it's the sentiment/the artwork itself. It really reminds me of my grandmother.
