Post Nup After Day Trading Addiction?
28F, husband is 30M. Married 3yrs. Within the first year and a half he discovered day trading and lost over 15k$. Stopped paying for our apartment and used rent money to day trade more, which left us homeless.
No children or property.
He has 0$ and in debt due to gambling. All our finances have always been separate and i been supporting myself throughout the whole marriage. No bank joint bank accounts or anything.
Issue is: he will never stop day trading he made it clear. Even hitting rock bottom wasnt enough to quit.
I earn double amount of money, maxed tfsa, fhsa and savings. And expecting a future inheritance.
I want them protected. He said he doesnt care about the money and he is willing to sign a post nup.
Im wondering, what if we end up divorcing, he lies and says i forced him or make something up and challenge it anyways?
As now ill be paying for my and HIS independent lawyer for the post nup process which is expensive
