Postage Date Of Security Deposit Refund

I just received my security deposit refund in the mail and they're saying they're withholding my entire deposit and that I owe them money on top of that. My lease ended on August 9th, 2026. The letter itself is dated for September 8th, 2026. But they also have a section on there for the outstanding charges, where they list a damage fee with a date of September 9th, 2026. The envelope this letter was sent in has a postage date of September 10th, 2026. I know that that date doesn't necessarily mean they mailed it on the 10th, just when USPS processed it. I just wanted to know if this could mean anything for me. I don't really care about disputing the damages, but if I can get my deposit back or not have to pay them because they were late on the 30 days, that would be great because I'm poor lol. I'm scared to just dispute it because they're vindictive people and I don't want them to take me to court :(. Any advice is appreciated, thanks so much!
