Rear Ended While Completely Stopped In Traffic, I Am Permanently Disabled, Got Slightly Injured And Now My Own Insurance Is Offering Me Money, Is This Normal?

Location: NJ

I (29f) was rear ended for the first time while I was completely stopped in traffic on a highway. The man behind me suddenly accelerated into the back of me throwing me into my steering wheel and injuring my right hip that has osteoarthritis. Since I was at a complete stop with my foot fully down on the brake my car didn’t move an inch so both my dog and I got thrown forward. I am permanently disabled, on Medicare, and drive a handicap plated car. I haven’t gone to any medical check up due to the fact that I am completely immunodeficient and off my treatments so unless I’m dying I don’t go in to be seen.
After speaking with my own insurance company about my injuries and how they have continued 1 month post being hit they suddenly offered me 1.5k not including damages to the car. Is this normal? Are there catches if I accept this money? Should I be seen and get a lawyer? My car has very very minimal damage, but I drive a Fiat 500 and the car that fully accelerated into me was a big SUV. My chronic hip pain has increased to a daily .5-2 points above my normal pain scale but has been slowly resolving.

Thank you for any and all advice, I have never been in a car accident and this is all extremely overwhelming to me.
