Received Court Notice For Someone Else's Case Using My Old Last Name. What Should I Do?

Location: Maryland

I received a "Notice of Trial Date" from the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore County in the mail today, and I'm confused because it doesn't seem to have anything to do with me.

The notice is addressed to my old last name but the case itself is "State of Maryland vs. [Different Person's Name]" which is not me at all. The charges listed are traffic-related violations that occurred at a time and place where I wasn't present and had no involvement.

I have no connection to this case whatsoever. I've never been pulled over for these violations, I'm not the defendant, and I don't know the person named in the case.

My questions: 1. Why would I receive a court notice for someone else's case? 2. Do I need to contact the court before the trial date to clear this up, or can I ignore it since it's clearly not my case?

The trial date is coming up in a couple weeks. I want to make sure I handle this correctly and don't end up with any warrants or issues due to mistaken identity or database errors.

Any advice would be appreciated.
