Restraining Order Against Me But You’re Living In My House?
Location: CA, Bay Area. My mom has some severe mental health issues and long story short lives in the house I inherited with my sister. We’ve been trying to renovate the house because it’s trashed so my sister can move in with her kids with my mom. My mom then files a restraining order against my sister and I; however, she wants to continue living in the house we own. Is this even possible? My sister needs to move in for financial reasons and I mean we own the house — makes me assume my mom would be the one who has to leave if she puts a restraining order in place against us? There was a clause in the inheritance that we allow my mom to live in the house for ten years (it’s been 3 years/10) but my sister and I actually own the house. In the restraint notice my mom wrote a 3 page letter that said my sister moving in and desires to renovate the house make her have “suicidal ideations” — I’m really hoping with this statement that we can get her involuntarily check into to a mental hospital to receive some serious help but also is that legal too?
