Revision Surgery Needed Due To The Operating Room Not Having Needed Surgery Supplies. Location Arizona United States

I had knee surgery in Arizona 3 days ago. It was supposed to be a 45 minute meniscus repair surgery. The operating room had 1 month to prepare for my surgery as my appointment was booked 1 month in advance. I should have knew something was wrong when I was in my hospital gown waiting to go back to surgery, and the surgeon said that he almost cancelled my surgery because they could not find a scope!! I’m assuming it was the scope for the arthroscopic surgery. I said wow are you sure it’s safe to proceed with the surgery he assured me it was safe. Another incident that should have set my alarms off was the surgeon showing me his scars he lifted up his shirt and showed me his botched surgery where his friend knicked his bowels. He had a gnarled scar on stomach that looked like Frankenstein chopped him up . He said he was sick the day before throwing up due to the botched surgery and he gets randomly sick. My husband asked him if it was safe to go through with my surgery. He assured us he was fine. Now the surgery was supposed to be a 45 minute surgery but it ended up being two hours. My husband said he got worried and then the Orthapedic Surgeon came out and told my husband that they had an abandoned surgery and I needed you to come back because they did not have the proper anchors to an anchor on my meniscus. Not only that I got the operating report after the surgery and it says they’re missing a draining tube and they had to improvise a tube. Also, they didn’t have pottery that was needed to do something during surgery and finally they didn’t have the anchor that was needed to anchor down my meniscus. I was told that I needed to come back and have revision surgery to put the anchors on my meniscus. location: Arizona United States
