Roommate Did Not Pay What He Agreed To.

Throwaway because I’m not sure if he’s on reddit.

So I recently had a roommate move out. We were both on the lease and the lease expired on the 31st of May, which is around when he moved out. The rent was $1,475 a month. We split it so that he would pay $788 and I’d pay $687 (he paid extra as his half of the internet.) However, I mistakenly thought he was going to move out on the 1st of May, not the 31st. Due to this, I paid $1,400 of the rent and was intending to pay the remaining $75, however I noticed my mistake. I asked him if he could pay me his half, which is $712 (less as he did pay the $75 that was left.) He said he would (we communicated through discord mainly,) He stayed here until the end of May, and when he was leaving I asked him if he could pay me. he procrastinated again (he originally said he’d pay me on May 1st,) and said he would by the 15th, which I accepted.

I woke up on the 14th to find out he has blocked me on Discord, Facebook, and Paypal, so I think it’s safe to say he has no plans to pay me. M question is, do I have any legal options going forward? I think I can take him to small claims court, but I have no idea where he lives now. Where I live currently is his last known address, and I do have his email, but I have no other way of finding him to serve court papers. I’ve never even been to court before outside of changing my last name several years ago, so I’m clueless where to go from here. I did save all of our interaction through discord, but I'm not sure if that's enough. Any advice is appreciated.
