Can You Legally Break Lease If Your Roommates Don’t Want To?
Throwaway account because one of my roommates has Reddit, sorry
Renting an apartment - 2 roommates
Corporate apartment, they own like more than half the city
Location: Chattanooga TN
I will answer any questions needed in the comments
I want to leave the apartment I’m living in and stupidly signed a lease for another year out of pressure, if my roommates are unaware or not wanting to break lease, is there anything I can do?
Edit: it looks like my lease doesn’t allow breaking individually, however TN has protections against domestic abuse that I can use. I don’t expect my apartment to take it easily but I have somewhat of a plan forming, Leaving post up for future googlers

Full story why below, but it’s probably not needed to answer the question
I have been in an abusive relationship with my bf for a few years now, it’s been a long long effort to realize that it is bad for me
At this point in my life I know 3 people, my bf and my two roommates. The roommates are nice enough but they are enablers / other victims that I just can’t help. They have other friends though, I don’t (I’m literally not allowed to leave apartment without permission / go to events)
I can’t leave right away, but I am wanting to be informed so I can make a plan. I am hoping that once I get a job I’m able to just disappear without them knowing before hand, but I also don’t know if I’m stuck with another year like this because my bf pressured me into another year of lease with them
