Roommate Installed Cameras And Didn't Tell Me

Card image cap

I'm currently living with my ex-girlfriend/room-mate. We're both on the lease and neither of us want to move out, so we're in essentially a custody battle for the apartment.

This afternoon, right after my therapy session, I noticed there was a ring camera set up in the living room and pointed at the office door where I take private calls and have my online therapy sessions. The location of the camera isn't particularly hidden, but it was not immediately obvious to me until I approached it from across the room, and it's installation was not disclosed.

When I asked her about it through text, she noted that
- It continuously records video + audio
- She notified our other room mate, but purposefully did not tell me

I feel that she has consistently verbally abused me, and that within the past two weeks that pattern of behavior has escalated into following me into rooms after i close the door, cornering me, blocking me physically, and putting her hands on me to grab me during heated conversation.

So this within that context feels to me like further escalation (perhaps grounds for a restraining order?)

The timeframe when it was active and unattended did cover times when I was on private phone calls and during the time of my therapy session.

She claims she will turn off the audio, but as this can be done remotely and without any indication on the device, I have no reason to trust that she will turn it off or way to know if it is kept off.

I have text evidence that she specifically told our other room-mate but left me in the dark about it on purpose, and that her reason for doing so is related to our ongoing breakup/questions about who will maintain the lease.

What are my options here? A quick and novice look online makes it seem like this is felony eavesdropping
