Rv Campground Scam Using Private Ground Laws

Recently, my mom bought an RV camper. She wanted to experience just living out of one and thought maybe it would be a better idea for saving money that way. My grandfather had just passed away; she took care of him until his last breath and decided she didn’t want to live in the house, so she sold it because it was too much for her. My mom also does homecare as a job, so taking care of someone who’s incapable of doing it himself wasn’t a problem for her. She stumbled upon a site that goes by “River Raisin Marina & Campground,” not knowing this later on would be the worst decision ever.

As a young adult, I’m more familiar with the internet. Lots of people are still old school, so they don’t look at reviews online, but I do. This woman, who goes by the name of “Veronica,” is using private land laws to scam her RV customers out of money. She harasses them every day and uses tactics to try to get a reaction out of you. This is not accidental; these are targeted attacks on certain individuals who stay there. She threatens to take or hold your RV, maybe even tow it, if you don’t pay rent.She randomly starts adding on charges. My mom is currently experiencing this.

She is trying to bribe my mother out of $2,000, saying she owes late fees—mind you, rent is $750, and she went up to $850—but my mom kept paying to avoid trouble. I’m assuming she does this first to test and see if that individual would bend to her needs and keep paying. My mom didn’t notice things like I do, but I pay close attention. This lady is evil and wicked. I had to drop my dog off at the shelter today. I have proof of everything. I will be posting and gathering all the information I can from and for my mom because it makes me upset. This woman should not keep getting away with this—it’s wrong.

I don’t know the law, but I have been looking it up, and it’s been saying that even though it’s private property, what she is doing is illegal. She cannot block someone’s RV and stop them from leaving, and that’s exactly what she is doing. We went to New York because we had to sell our parrot as well, so we lost two animals. When we came back, that’s when we saw she had moved the RV into a corner and placed another in front to prevent my mom from leaving until $2,000 is paid. I took a few screenshots, but all you have to do is look up the campgrounds. I hope somebody believes me and can do something legally. She has done this to so many people. It is pathetic and disgusting.
