Sex Offender Residence Question

Are level 3 sex offenders allowed to rent a room in a different location than their established home and workplace?

The police department shared his information on Facebook in July stating that he is level three sex offender due to his high risk to reoffend and high degree of danger to the public. His listed home and work addresses are not boston nor metro-Boston.

I’ll keep it short and just say that I knew from the jump that there was something wrong with him in an evil type way. I began having panic attacks and needing to buddy up if I wanted to go to my regular hangout.

A week ago, I began being harassed by a man in Boston at a local park that I frequent on a daily basis. The harassment was sexual in nature, ranging from unwanted touching to repeated unwanted contact in the middle of the night and continuing the conversation when I told him to leave me alone and that I was not interested.

A friend and I ran a Google search and he was the first result, along with the slew of criminal court records ranging from 2003 to this July (not concurrent but in and out for crimes dating back to a rape conviction in 2008, including failure to register as a sex offender on two occasions).

When I met him, he told me that he was renting a room in downtown Boston for $267 a week.

I have tried contacting local authorities about this, but keep getting inconsistent replies that emphasize that I need to be witnessing it in the moment for them to be able to do anything about it.

I’m wondering if renting a room would be a violation of parole and his sex offender status constraints and also if that would be an easier avenue of getting this guy off the streets.

He has been seen and admitted to having sex with teenagers last week as well as an unconscious female acquaintance. He assaulted a friend who confronted him and threatened the entire park that he would be back to finish the job.
