Sibling Forged My Signature On Their Lease Renewal, Got Evicted, Never Told Me (oregon)

Location: Oregon, USA
Any advice on how to find a good litigation attorney for tenet law and a debt collection attorney in Oregon, preferably near the Willamette Valley area? Doesn’t have to reside in that area specifically.

I did co-sign the original lease for my older sibling. When it came time for re-newel, the leasing company told them that if they didn’t have my signature they couldn’t re-new the lease. I confirmed with the leasing company that I wouldn’t be re-signing via email and phone. I cut all ties with my sibling due to their risky and unsafe behavior during this time. Sibling electronically signed my name later that day (obvious, it’s their penmanship). I had no idea they did this.

One year later, sibling is evicted and their partner causes property damage.

Few months later, eviction case is taken to court with both our names. Sibling does not notify me of the court cases (2) and loses. I supposedly owe $50 and sibling owes 11k according the the court documents.

I start getting called from the debt collectors thinking it’s a scam I ignore them. I realize it’s real when it hits my credit score and I suddenly have 12k debt (now 15k with interest). I went from a 750 credit score to 400 in a day.

I have a legal plan that can pay all the legal fees. I’m looking for a tenet lawyer (most important part) that can help start the process of removing the eviction from my name and then a debt collection lawyer that can help remove the debt. I’ve called a lot of lawyers and almost all of them, even the ones recommended by legal aid, only help with landlord law and not tenet law. If they do tenet law, they only handle current evictions and not litigation…

I feel really stuck and like there’s no way out of this unless I become a tenet lawyer somehow and do it myself…

If you have suggestions please comment, especially if there’s a way I can do this without an attorneys help.
