Unable To Cancel Medicaid Threatening Aca Healthcare

tldr: got signed up for medicaid by mistake, tried to correct it, still on medicaid, losing other insurance because i am on medicaid, should i just give up & use the medicaid?

i applied for healthcare through the aca marketplace in october of 2024. however, i misunderstood a question. it asked how much money i had made that month & i put in how much money i had made up to that point, not realizing that would be how it would calculate my annual income. since i had had covid for much of october 2024 & hadn't gotten my last paycheck yet, it estimated my income as much lower than it actually was & said i qualified for medicaid. i immediately deleted the application, since i knew that i shouldn't qualify for medicaid based off of putting my annual income into the calculator earlier. however, it had already sent my information to the medicaid office

in the meantime, i was able to sign up for an aca rebate through the insurer's website, which phrased the question more clearly. so for most of 2025 i had my insurance through this private insurer with an aca rebate. however, unbeknownst to me in the background my information had been processed with the medicaid office & i had been signed up for medicaid without my knowledge or consent. as soon as i learned this i started trying to get myself taken off medicaid. i reported my correct income through my state's online portal, as well as faxing & mailing the state office that my medicaid application had gone through repeatedly

since the healthcare marketplace got the report i was signed up for medicaid, i got deprived of my subsidies midway through 2025. thankfully, my parents were able to pay for me to continue getting insurance through my private insurer since i did not want to use the medicaid coverage that i knew for a fact i was not eligible for

by submitting a new application i was able to get back on aca coverage for 2026 & was given a deadline of july 2026 to prove that i no longer had medicaid or i would lose my aca coverage again. i kept calling, mailing, faxing, submitting information through the online portal & i went in person to the state office but all they let me do there was fill out a form & scan it in on site to be processed. in february, i sent in the documentation that i had submitted this form at the state office as well as documentation of my income showing i should not qualify for medicaid & my previous attempts to contact the office that processed my medicaid application. i have never used the medicaid coverage since i knew i was not supposed to have it

throughout march & april the aca marketplace website seemed to indicate that this had resolved the problem. however, just last week i received a new message saying that i still needed to provide proof that i do not have medicaid coverage & with the same july deadline. previously i had been able to take time off work to go into the state office & sort this out but work has been extremely busy this month & i have been extremely stressed, depressed, exhausted & fatigued

the path of least resistance would seem to be to just go with the flow, cancel my private insurance once it is no longer subsidized & start using the medicaid insurance i was incorrectly given. however, i am worried that in doing so i will be committing fraud. but i do not know what else to do. i made a mistake on a form a year and a half ago then spent six months trying to correct it but to no avail
