Small Company Doesn’t Have The Funds To Pay Employees.

Location: PA-USA Hello, I am looking for advice. I work for a small assisted living company. The chain of command is Staff(DSPs), House Manager, CEO, and then the Owners. The whole company has less than 25 employees. These emails are from the owner of the company. Last week on 9/3/26, we were informed that our checks would be paper and a few days late for the next three weeks, we were supposed to receive them on Monday instead of Friday because they changed their bank and the funding from the state would come in checks for a few weeks, so there’s a whole clearance delay. We were promised a 25¢ raise for the next three weeks while we deal with this delay. Yesterday, Sunday, 9/13/26, the owner sent out another email telling us that they have yet to receive any checks from the state, that they were expecting last week and we won’t be getting paid until further notice. The owners said they paid everyone from their personal savings last week but are unable to do so this week, and that they tried to contact the state on Saturday but hope to hear back Today, Monday 9/14/26. Our paystubs were uploaded on Friday, dated 9/11/26, even though no one has been paid, and they also do not reflect the 25¢ per hour pay increase. My house manager said they are looking for a new job and contacting the irs about the paystubs, also because they didn’t reimburse him for a repair they asked him to do on a wall in our clients house. I’ve already been charged a late fee on my credit card, and I had to get a loan from a friend to be able to afford gas to get to work. I was worried about retaliation if I contacted anyone about it, but with my house manager being so upset, I feel better about possibly doing something about this. What should I do? They aren’t bad people, but I’m already struggling because of this, I don’t know what I could do. Any advice appreciated!
