Someone Claims They’re Paying A Company To Mass Report And Take Down My Accounts — What Can I Do?
Hi Reddit,
Location: Los Angeles
I’m dealing with a really strange and stressful situation and could use some advice.
An individual I’m currently in legal disputes with (including stalking and personal injury claims) has been openly claiming that they are paying a company called ASCORP to repeatedly report and take down my social media accounts. We are both based out of Los Angeles, CA but the company she is claiming to have hired is based out of India.
I don’t know if this company is actually involved or if she’s bluffing, but I have experienced repeated takedowns and disruptions across my platforms, which is affecting my work.
I’ve already started documenting everything for court, but I’m trying to understand:
- Is it actually possible for a third-party company to mass report or target accounts like this?
- If so, what kind of legal responsibility would they have?
- What steps can I take to protect my accounts and prevent further abuse?
- Has anyone dealt with something similar?
I’ve also reached out to the company directly requesting clarification and a cease and desist.
Any advice (legal, technical, or platform-related) would really help. Thank you.
