Someone Trying To Claim I Rear Ended Them, But I Have A Dashcam

Card image cap

Location: NJ

So about a month ago this car in front of me rear ends the person in front of them. I was pretty far back when they hit each other however we just got a call today from my insurance asking for more information. I was not available at the time so I didn’t get to speak to the agent. I did not stop for this accident because was such a small fender bender, it happened at such low speeds and so far away from me that I didn’t feel the need to. I was pretty close to them as I was trying to get around them since we were completely stopped on a busy highway. I’m assuming they got my license plate and gave it to the police to get my insurance information. Now I have an extremely clear dashcam video of the entire incident so I’m not worried about that. I just want to know the best way to handle the situation. Wondering if I should hand the video over to Progressive or get the police report and handle it directly with the police. I don’t want my car or myself listed as being involved in an accident I was not remotely involved in. Thank you in advanced ????????
