Spouse Has Taken Advantage Of Me.

Husband was doing the 2025 taxes (late) this year and I realized how badly he has taken advantage. We have a commercial cleaning business in Pennsylvania. It makes about 40,000 a year. No employees. My hudband convinced me to put this business in my name and I did because I trusted him at the time. We currently owe a couple thousand in Federal back taxes and a couple thousand in state sales tax.

My issue is that I have no control over this business and I am completely in the dark. I dont have any access to the accounts that he uses to bill people, I have no access to anything. I do not have access to even withdrawal money from the business. He has complete control of it. Its his business in my name only. 2025 tax year we are going to owe about $8000 in taxes and my husband has not saved any money towards these taxes. I assume 2026 tax year will be similar. Thats 16,000 in back taxes. We own a home with a mortgage and i am concerned about a tax lien or other penalties. I trusted my husband and now I feel like ive been taken advantage of by him running up tax debts in my name. Im considering divorce because of this and other things. Do I have any recourse when Ive been shut out of this business since it started? Can he be held liable by a divorce court judge to pay these taxes? I make very little money on my own and the debts he has put on me will make it almost impossible to leave this abusive marriage as I cannot now finacially take care of myself.
