State Of Ca Discrimination?

Card image cap

location: California

I was just fired today, after returning from maternity leave 5 months ago. In january after returning i got a 3% raise from my company. Just last month in May i received a 10% raise being told it was a “market adjustment” and was told my company did this to remain competitive with other companies in the industry. Per my supervisor i’ve had performance issues that he’s been discussing with me the past year.. mind you i was on maternity leave for 8 months. i got written up last week and left work with 20 minutes left of the shift after telling my coworker i didn’t feel well. —— they fired me on these reasons.

out of 35 employees in my position im the only brown girl in a white male dominated field. i hate to pull this card but i feel singled out and discriminated against.

mind you i was the only one who received a write up when it was a team mistake as stated in my write up. i am salary but they want to dock me for leaving early when i work 11 hours sometimes with out a chance to eat. other coworkers of mine were placed on performance improvement plans, however i was not. a handful of my coworkers got written up *only* for leaving full working shift early - multiple times. i left 20 minutes early ONE day and they found it grounds to terminate me. my last review i had before maternity leave was categorized as “good” but how was i fired due to my low work performance. wondering if this is worth pursuing legally.
