Trailer No Lights!
Ok so I'm from location: corinth, Ms. Three days before Christmas im headed to work in the vehicle I just bought used three weeks prior. There was a company work van with trailer in tow. This is on hwy 45 south a 4 lane hwy. Heavy traffic at that time. Anyways this van was at a complete stop in the right lane of the highway no working trailer lights no turn signal. Just stopped right at the driveway where he was turning into.
I had time to see it and applied brakes however I couldn't merge lanes bc of traffic I tried going to the outside off the pavement but was too late besides if he was turning he would've turned into me. I have photo proof of the non working trailer lights the patrolman could clearly see it didn't have lights. But my crash report says non of this and has me at fault. It did not even scratch his trailer but totaled my new/used car. What should I do? Or am I gonna have to eat this one tho he was negligent in proper lighting and signals?
