Us Cal, Is It Illegal To Leave Bad Comment?

A while back some guy crashed into me on the highway and fled the scene. His insurance denied coverage as he was listed as an excluded driver on the policy. I had dashcam footage of the crash, license plate and his face because he put his head out the window before he fled the scene but this being California the police are not interested in doing anything about it and it seems he got off scott free.

He is the social media face of a local company I see their ads all the time in which he keeps talking about how much they care about the community and being honest and doing the right thing. It kinda infuriates me not going to lie..

Would I get in legal trouble if I leave a comment on one of their ads about what happened as long as I do it truthfully?

I'm thinking something along the lines of:

Nothing against company xx but mr zz that talks so much about integrity crashed into me while uninsured and fled the scene leaving me with a huge repair bill to pay. Everyone makes mistakes but it takes a special kind of human to not amount to it. Just so you know what type of person you allow in your house if you go with them.
