Wedding Venue Used My Photo To Create An Ai Image For An Ad.

I shot the very first wedding at a small local venue last May. They reached out this February via email to ask if they could use the photos for a printed brochure. I replied (didn't approve or deny permission) asking to speak with someone about how the images would be used and presented. I never got a response.

Fast forward to last month. I saw an ad for this venue on Instagram that clearly used my images to generate an AI scene from a wedding. I even went so far as to reply to the ad asking if it was AI generated. They confirmed that it was.

I know the AI image was based on my photo because I received confirmation from the bride that she brought the arbor, and the arbor in the ad is EXACTLY the same as the arbor in my photos, so it couldn’t have been something the venue did on their own.

This is not okay with me. I don't want to ruin my potential relationship with this venue - it's nice, it's local, and I'm literally the only photographer who has shot a wedding there so far (they're making a push to book more weddings in 2027), but if it comes down to it, my rights are more important than the “relationship.” What are my options in this case?
