Weird Text From Friend Asking Me To Deposit A Check For Them

An old friend messaged me out of nowhere and she wants me to deposit a check for her and venmo her because her bank isnt accepting it. I was initially fine and told her I would. But it got weird when I saw the check. They typed my name on a photo copied check and typed the date. The back of the check didnt look like it either and had typed for mobile deposit and a random signature. After this I was second guessing everything. She hadn't really talked about anything I had said like my wedding or her degree or even a meme I sent her. She also had who I assumed was her boss talk to me about depositing the check instead of doing it herself.

Is it possible someone stole her likeness (online) and contacted me to commit fraud or is it more likely shes wanting me to commit fraud for her? This just seems sketchy asf.

Id appreciate any feedback on this.

Edit: Thank you everyone that warned me this is in fact a scam. I called the friend from an old number i had (the scammer contacted me on insta impersonating her and I gave them my number dumb I know) and they have had everyone in their contact list been texted by the scammer
