What Are The Grandparents Rights In Missouri?

I am not posting for me, but for a friend. Location: Missouri.

Edit: my friend does not "withold" her grandchild from her. My friend invites her over to er personal apartment but she never comes. She has not even met her grandson because she hasn't spoken to her son since before they knew they were expecting. his mother beat him as a child and also left him multiple times to go abuse drugs with different men. she is a nasty vile woman and she already has a record for child endangerment. she will not ever get rights fo him because she would have go prove she isn't a worthless parent. which she is and has been.

My close friend has recently lost her husband (also my friend) They have a 1 year old. There is honestly so much that I can't even talk aboit. He was murdered. There is no investigation and his killer was released on bail. There was no justice and we are fighting hard as Greene County Police is notorious for not doing their jobs.

My late friends mother, days after the funeral, began blowing up my friends phone, demanding to have all of her sons things, she wants her sons ashes, and her grandson. All she asked for was space and alone time to grieve her husband. That is not a big ask. His mother shot back and said that she would just see them in court and that she would have no choice but to share her son. HER son. She is the mother and the ONLY living parent. She has admitted to being on drugs before and says she does pills and lines of coke to cope with her sons death. No wonder my friend doesn't feel comfortable leaving her son with her, as i also would not.

Is there anything my friend can do to help herself? I really feel for her and her situation. She was a SAHM and she now has to break the lease on her apartment to move home. All advice is welcome. Thank you.
