What Constitutes Harassment/ Stalking/witness Intimidation
Location: Massachusetts
I was the victim of a nasty old pervert while on public transport and I reported him to the police with very clear proof. They arrested him and are charging him but I am not the one moving this forward its the DA.
This past week a private investigator who seems to be affiliated with said pervs legal representation has been calling me repeatedly, leaving vague and ominous voicemails telling me I need to call him back, and even went as far as leaving a letter jammed in the door frame to my apartment. I live in a building with a locked front door so l don't know how this person even got in.
Ever since this started l've been feeling so paranoid both because the creep who did this plead not guilty and is currently free and lives in the area I commute through everyday, but also now because he has seemingly hired this private investigator who keeps trying to pressure me into talking to the guys lawyer.
Should I just do my best to ignore it all? Am I allowed to tell the Pl to screw off and leave me alone? What do I do :/ I felt so nervous coming home today that I stopped at a random store on my way home just to delay the possibility of coming home to another creepy letter at my door.
