What Do You Do When You Get Hit By A Cinder Block?
Location: Tennessee
On May 29, 2025 someone dropped a cinder block off an overpass and through my windshield. I was doing about 75 in the fast lane and took it to the chest and face. Miraculously, the windshield pillar shattered the block first and I was struck by smaller pieces instead of 1 big one. I survived with minor injuries, bruises and stitches. No internal injuries, released from the ER that night.
My insurance covered my bills mostly. I know there is a victims fund available that covers any other out of pocket expenses. I’ve called a few “have-you-been-injured-in-an-auto-accident?” Lawyers, but no one is interested in the case.
The police held no investigation what so ever. I was told “there were no foot prints on the bridge.” … so the case is cold I guess, Scooby-Doo. My main beef is that the police didn’t even bother to investigate. If a cinder block had gone through a police cruiser they would have burned down the city to find the culprit. I honestly don’t feel “served or protected”. I’ve accepted that no one will ever be prosecuted and there is probably nothing that can be done at this point.
Just curious if there is anything that I haven’t thought of? I don’t know where to go from here except to keep living, hug the ones I love, and enjoy everyday. Thanks, be safe out there yall.
