Wife Cheated, Emptied The Accounts, And Sold The House After His Cancer Diagnosis — Does He Have Any Legal Rights?

Location: Texas

My brother-in-law’s wife cheated on him and left him shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer. He has stage 3 prostate cancer, as well as cancer in one of his lungs.
She moved out to live with the man she was having an affair with. She emptied their bank accounts and sold their home for over $300,000, but plans to give him only $25,000 from the proceeds. Once the sale closes, he’ll have nowhere to live.
He has been disabled for years due to a previous injury and is unable to work. His only income is about $1,300 a month in disability benefits. Throughout their marriage, she was the primary breadwinner. They were married for more than 25 years.
Neither of them has a lawyer, and he can’t afford to hire one. Is she legally allowed to do this? Is he entitled to a larger share of the home’s proceeds or to part of her pension after such a long marriage? I’m very worried about what is going to happen to him. Any advice would be appreciated.
