Work Contracts Oklahoma
Sorry I’m not the best writer or explainer but I’m curious please have mercy you sign a contract when you start a company let’s say it’s something along the lines of “you can’t work for another company in the same field or use any knowledge gained at the company for 3 years after date of your resignation”
just a dumb example but Joe signs one when becoming an hvac tech with airco, he decides he can make a lot more installing ac units himself after a few years, but he signed the contract agreeing to not do that for 3 years after he leaves.
I know the wording would make a big difference but in general are those service contracts really binding? How would someone prove you don’t allready know how to do that beforehand, what would the punishment be ? Getting sued getting , your own business shut down ? Does that contract actually make it illegal for the owner of a different hvac company to hire you?
Lets say your spouse opens there own hvac business and “hires” you as an employee but your really running the show there just the owner on paper is that illegal? Or just opens you to a possible lawsuit for taking away business from the original employer? Thanks for taking the time to read this and for any useful info! Location: Oklahoma
