Wrong Storage Unit Raided By Police Task Force
Location: Michigan
So I have a storage unit with a storage company and was called recently by the storage unit manager stating my unit was broken into by a police unit and no warrant was presented. My items was tossed everywhere and some things damaged.
The manager states he never received a warrant. I called our local non emergency line and explain the property damage and they refused to make a report claiming "we know about the event, and there is nothing to make a report for"
I've been in contact with a Sargent who provided me the warrant and claimed he had been in contact with the storage company before and they were the ones to provide the wrong unit number. The warrant has my unit number and another one that is very similar but no names on said warrant.
Sargent states he has spoken to the compliance department of the storage unit and someone should reach out to me, but that has never taken place.
What is my recourse here?
