$2300/month Yard Ornament
Location: Georgia
My husband and I run a small trash company in the state of Ga. With some growth, my husband opted to purchase a used trash truck from Michigan back in February.
The compactor on this truck has not functioned properly since it was delivered to us. I also want to add that upon arrival, the oil was black and a brake pad FELL OUT. The dealer admitted that the inspection was done at a different location than they typically use and that was his mistake.
Anyway, it is now November and the compactor still does NOT work. The dealer has sent this truck to several shops for us to have the issue resolved, but to no avail. At what point, or can we, send this thing back?? It was marketed as 'ready to work' - yeah right. We are paying over 2 grand a month for what has essentially become a yard ornament. Are there any protections in place for us even with an 'as is' sale and that the dealer has made several attempts to make it right for us? I am considered legal action but want to make sure that I have a leg to stand on. I cannot see in what universe it is correct to be required to keep paying on a truck that has not worked properly from word GO.
