[illinois - Chicago Burbs] Small Dealership Title Washed My Car Before I Bought It. How Can I Find A Lawyer To Help Me Get My Money Back?

Card image cap

Location: Chicago suburbs

I need help finding a lawyer. I don't even know where to start. I've tried searching for consumer fraud lawyers and arbitrators, but all of the names that come up don't list consumer fraud as one of their services. Can someone point me in the direction of some lawyers? Or tell me how to properly search for one? I'm desperate. I didn't have my car for 3 months before finding out that I need a brand new transmission in my car, and it's a 2025. I've been borrowing my 15 year old's car for the last month, but they'll be getting their license in December and I can't keep it forever.

Editing to add in:

  1. A 2025 car that should be under factory warranty (21k miles)
  2. It does not have a manufacturer's warranty because it should have a salvage title
  3. The dealership sold it to me with a normal title and did not disclose the flood damage, salvage title state, or lack of a manufacturer's warranty.
  4. It needs a new transmission because it was a flood damaged vehicle.

To anyone that took the time to respond, positively or negatively, thank you. I think I need to keep looking on my own to see if someone can help me, or I just wait until the Attorney General responds to my complaint. I asked here because I've heard the AG can take ages to respond, and may not help me receive anything. Thank you anyway.
