Security At A Party Took A Sword From Me And Other People. Mine Was Stolen. What Can I Do?

I recently went to a party on Halloween night. Security was only one mad, and he did pat downs at the door. He took my sword and said he'd hold it for the duration of the party. Around two hours in, I go to check that it is still there and it is. Security was also holding at least 3 other swords that I could see. At the end of the night, roughly five hours later, my sword is gone, and Security isnt with the others.
I find the Security guard, he says he stepped away for 15-20 minutes for some other matter, his words. I call management, he says that there was nothing thet they could do. I was supposedly told to leave my items in my car, which I wasnt and I also used public transportation there. I was also told by the security guard and the manager that it is not their jobs to watch other people's items. If that was the case, they could've turned me away at the door. They also didnt have cameras in the building, their words.
I think its very negligent that they took others items and did not put it in any secure place. At the same time, why offer the service if you are not going to watch the stuff or are allowed to? What can I do from here? It was almost $900. I've already made a police report.
