Accused Of Stealing From A Hotel.
Location: Alabama. I just found out I had a warrant for my arrest today after an employee background check. It was theft 4th. I bonded out today as well. The hotel owner has no proof I stole the TV from the room. Apparently there’s no cameras on the property either. The room was in my name, but there was 4 of us total. We all witnessed that there was no tv in there and the dresser was visibly dusty. Me and the other person left out of the room and sat in his vehicle. I later checked out and received a call from the owner saying I stole the tv and he’d be pressing charges if I didn’t return the tv or pay him $200. I calmly explained the tv wasn’t in there when we entered the room and I couldn’t return what I didn’t have. What’s the likelihood that this case will end in a conviction? I’m in healthcare. This is make it or break it for me. Or what should I look into? And do dismissed cases still show up in record? We didn’t take any pictures. I have text messages from two of the witnesses about the Tv from 2024 and they both stated it wasn’t in there.
