Any Legal Bind To Perform Boat Work?

Will try to make this a long story short.

Gave customer unofficial preliminary estimate to install X electronic systems. Let’s say 8.4k

Met with customer, advised additional work needed, he also added on another electronic.

Wrote new official estimate 9.8k

Customer says “out of budget, can you do 8k cash” (This was offensive to me, I didn’t respond and terminated estimate, he followed up a few later and I told him I can’t give any discounts) he now said OK. ok let’s move Forward.

I respond.. Ok I need deposit of 6k to order parts. (Parts MSRP worth 7.3 ish after tax)

Customer says ok. Sent payment

I respond got it, parts ordered

Day or two go by and customer texts me..”can you have the parts delivered to my House”

I say, No, it’s too late I will bring them when I come to do the install on agreeed upon install date

Customer says he purchased the parts, he wants them in the comfort of his own home. (Addresses me by my name): It is 6,000 we’re talking about

I advised him I’d need the remaining X amount of the price of parts + respective tax and I’d drop them off for him. And that Im also no longer comfortable doing this install as I feel there is not a mutual trust. And as a token of good faith, I’d even discount the parts 10% for him. (Keep in mind I’m Still a bit sour for his low ball cash offer, remained professional but by now my bad gut feeling is in full force )

He turns it around on me saying there’s a misunderstanding in my perception of what he’s conveying. Let’s talk tomorrow

I don’t want to do any work for this guy, he’s LOADED $ (900k boat, 4-5 mil house) and I do not want or need a dime from him. I’m a sole proprietor, I have 20 5 star reviews. Never had a situation like this. If I’m willing to refund this customer his full Deposit, tell him to kick rocks, can he pursue any legal action against me for not following through on said work order? Id like to be prepared and also know my legal limitations & expectations.
