Audio Being Recorded At Work

Card image cap

Location: Illinois

Okay so I know the title is a little broad but; I work at a Caseys in the kitchen. One of my coworkers has a body cam that they bring with them to record audio in the kitchen. He says hes doing it to “protect himself” but the way I see it is he wouldnt have anything to worry about if he wasnt doing anything wrong. Dude is super snappy, rude and temperamental and also close with my manager. We do not record audio in the store only video. My manager said it was okay for him to have the cam but none of the people who actually have to work with him are okay with it. i looked through the handbook and couldnt find anything about recording devices. i know illinois must have both parties to consent for it to be legal to record audio but im trying to figure out if that applies at my job. like i said he is close with the manager and they okayed it so i cant ask them or ask the dm bc they are a lost cause. PLEASE HELP!!!! he has stressed out every single one of my staff and the manager does nothing!!!
