Boss Says I Have To Put In 60 Days

Location: WA State. Edit: So I called a couple friends to get their take on it and one pointed out that my boss has let other people quit with no notice just walk out no 60 day notice nothing so I'm gonna keep to my 3 weeks notice and see how it goes I'll let you all know.

Edited to make it clearer I hope. I work as a highway contract carrier for a company. I got a different position I gave 3 weeks notice of when my start date is for the new position. My boss is now saying my contract says I have to give a 60 day notice. It does but it's for them who hold the contract I'm technically an employee. They say I'm a 1099 employee but I looked it up. According to Google I'm not a 1099 employee. I don't hold the highway contract I'm just looking for my best course of action here.

This is what is in my contract see below I've been there 3 years TERM AND TERMINATION.

Term. This agreement will become effective as described in section 21. Unless it is terminated earlier in accordance with subsection 2(b), this agreement will continue until the Services have been satisfactorily completed and the Contractor has been paid in full for such Services (the "Term").

Termination. This agreement may be terminated:

by either party on provision of 60 days' written notice to the other party, with or without cause; ii. by either party for a material breach of any provision of this agreement by the other party, if the other party's material breach is not cured within 60 days of receipt of written notice of the breach; iii. by the Company at any time and without prior notice, if the Contractor is convicted of any crime or offense, fails or refuses to comply with the written policies or reasonable directives of the Company, or is guilty of serious misconduct in connection with performance under this agreement; or iv. automatically, on the death of the Contractor.

If the contractor decides to terminate before 12 months have been completed the company will hold a $500 training fee.

Effect of Termination. After the termination of this agreement for any reason, the Company shall promptly pay the Contractor for Services rendered before the effective date of the termination. No other compensation, of any nature or type, will be payable after the termination of this agreement.
